Lidar (Light Detection And Ranging), is a cost effective and efficient technology for creating Digital Terrain, Surface or Elevation Models (DTM , DSM or DEM). With the use of laser technology, GPS and Inertial navigation systems combined, precise geospatial data is acquired which is an essential element in a number of industry sectors including engineering, power transmission, oil and gas exploration, flood plain and forest inventory management, etc. Groupe Alta’s LiDAR systems can scan the surface at an accuracy of up to 2 cm and provide detailed data sets in areas where conventional photogrammetry or land surveying are less cost-effective or difficult.
