Groupe Alta’s production team provides highly accurate digital mapping products for a multitude of GIS users around the world. Vector mapping is used to extract and classify geospatial aerial data acquired. This data is acquired in an xyz position which is essential for the creation of relatively all kinds of mapping projects for volumetric analysis, land profiling, 3D animations and more. We all depend on accurate, detailed geographic information, because every decision you make will somehow impact the earth.

Orthorectification is the correction of aerial imagery from the tip & tilt of the camera and distortion from terrain relief. With the use of orientation parameters in conjuction with digital elevation models (DEM, DSM or DTMs) and breaklines, images are further processed to create orthomosaics. These digital orthophotos represent accurate measurements of distance, area and azimuth and can be integrated into different kinds of maps, (raster or vector) for use in various Geographic Information Systems. Because orthoimages are planimetrically correct, it is a most effective tool for use in most public and private industry sectors.

Three-dimensional technology has advanced significantly in the past few years, now making it possible to create increasingly authentic virtual reality scenes. Because of these advances, many geospatial professionals and engineers can now envision a 3D GIS future using virtual reality models. The increased availability of high-resolution aerial imagery in addition to detailed terrain, surface, and elevation models assist geospatial planners and managers to create geographically accurate 3D models allowing them to better visualize and analyze their data.
